How Medical Tourism Help to Cut Prices of Plastic Surgery in Economic Downturn

In those times of economic downturn we all are thinking in reducing our expenses, lowering down our phone, utilities and other bills, even stopping from buying things like clothes or that car accessory we like, and also many people who had programmed or at least though about getting plastic surgery just got to wait until things get better, or don’t?.

Medical tourism have been there long enough helping people with low incomes to get breast augmentation or a liposuction in countries like Thailand, Brazil or Colombia and even without needing to book with a plastic surgery financing company due to the extremely low prices that you can get if you decide to go for that procedure out of your country.

But you may be wondering why everybody is talking about medical tourism and exotic locations like those countries? well the answer is simple and I will put it on numbers, while getting breast implants in the USA could cost about $4,000 dollars sometimes even without the hospital fee or anesthesiologist fee, you can take that same amount and travel to Colombia, get the implants and stay the recovery time having a small vacation, YES IT IS TRUE, but don’t think that the implants are low quality ones, or the doctor have no expertise at all, they are the same than in the US (the implants) and the doctor is trained in the US and Europe.

Health Care is Becoming More Accessible Thanks to Medical Tourism

There are about 45 millions of Americans who does not have health insurance
and it is due to the rising costs of health care. According to the national coalition for health care, “In 2007 the total national health expenditures were expected to rise 6.9 percent — two times the rate of inflation. Total spending was $2.3 TRILLION in 2007, or $7600 per person. Total health care spending represented 16 percent of the gross domestic product (GDP)”.

I suggest you to search for the movie Sicko from Michel Moore on your local video store and you will see how health care insurance companies think about their customers, and you will see why you don’t have the finest health care system in the world as president Nixon said.

But some years ago something came up, something that started to care about those millions of Americans who needed surgical procedures that were not available because of the high costs or the long wait times. Something that even can make a reality the dream to have plastic surgery.

In the past two decades, there has been a complete turnaround in the number of people globally who seek and undergo cosmetic surgery. The fact that more people aim to alter, modify and improve physical and aesthetic appearance is very obvious and is simply uncontested. However, there has been a drastic change in the cosmetic surgery sector. Globally, many people go abroad to undergo different cosmetic procedures.

You Want to Get Plastic Surgery Bringing Someone With You

Published: Nov 4th, 2008 | Author: Alex Bhaswara Add Comment

There is a question that many people ask : Can I get my surgery with someone else?

The answer to that question is also simple: ABSOLUTELLY it should be the best thing to do, and this is because many reasons.

First you can get more comfortable and secure if you come with someone you trust, your husband (or wife), a friend, your mother, your cousin, etc. this is because undergoing this adventure (as many doctors in the USA says), could be intimidating, but if you come with that person you can rely on it will be easier for you to take the decision and to overcome the fear of coming to a country you probably don’t know or that you have heard bad things of (I will address this in a future email).

Coming with other person could be good for you because you can spend all of your recovery time with someone you know and you are used to talk and be with. This will help you get recovered faster and in a more comfortable way than talking just with nurses and doctors.
