Cosmetic Surgery – an Affordable Option?

It appears that the global recession is forcing many to give their spending a reshuffle and cut out the things that do not constitute a necessity. This may see many niche sectors suffering as people will inevitably cut back to the essentials, refraining from spending on those little extras that had become the norm before the destabilisation of the finance industry and every sub-sector that is now feeling the knock on effect.

Many will be unable to spend the money on cosmetic surgery operations such as breast enlargement and augmentation, under eye surgery and the well known facelift. Will this end up in a nation of people looking old before there time? This shouldn’t be the case, many of these surgical procedures cost less than the amount you’d spend on say a used car (much less in most cases) or a luxury family holiday and it is certainly an amount of money you can save over a relatively short space of time if you are committed.

All is not lost though it seems, some companies appear to be lowering their prices in a bid to keep the customers coming in. At this time of financial uncertainty this means for those with a fatter than average wallet now is the time to opt for those surgical procedures you’ve been planning.

Smartlipo – Modern Liposuction Surgery

Most men and women want to look young and attractive. But many of them have those stubborn areas of fat that just won’t go away, even with a healthy diet and a steady exercise routine. Liposuction is an effective procedure that eradicates excessive stubborn fat from specific areas of the body. A recent and exciting new development in liposuction surgery is SmartLipo – an innovative technique designed to permanently remove surplus fat cells. It does not just take out the fat, but also enhances body contour and tightens the skin.

Remove Excessive Fat Quickly

SmartLipo – This modern liposuction surgery helps patients lose a size or two with minimum incision and minimum downtime. While SmartLipo has some drawbacks, it wins over conventional liposuction methods in terms of safety and effectiveness. The treatment is non-invasive and often local anesthesia is enough to carry out this procedure. Recovery time is brief, with many patients returning to work in a few days. You are the best candidate for this treatment, if you are healthy and physically fit, but have trouble areas that don’t respond to diet and exercise.

Breast Reduction Options

Breast reduction surgery is sure to enact a noticeable anatomic change in any woman brave enough to endure the invasive nature of the surgical procedure. However, the powerful psycho-emotional changes will reach far deeper into the heart and soul of the woman, addressing long standing self esteem and body image issues, not to mention resolving a variety of painful physical complaints.

Breast reduction surgery is gaining popularity as a method of changing the body and the mind. Large problematic breasts can be a real burden to bear, causing a variety of physical pains, social phobias and emotional issues. Reduction mammoplasty is a drastic, yet highly effective potential cure for these troublesome concerns, yet there are many risks to consider before deciding if the procedure is right to fulfill your body image expectations.

Generally speaking, breast reduction surgery should only be considered if the size of the breasts is truly a real health concern and non-surgical reduction methods do not produce adequate results. Diet and exercise can significantly reduce the size of borderline breasts, making surgical intervention unnecessary. Women with a higher percentage of fatty tissue in their breasts will achieve better reduction results from noninvasive methods, while women with greater amounts of glandular tissue are unlikely to enjoy the same positive results. Regardless of breast composition, breasts which remain too large after a real attempt at nonsurgical reduction might make the woman a good candidate for surgery.

Cosmetic Surgery Holidays Continued

Cosmetic surgery operations abroad are becoming more and more common as people try to save money on the cosmetic surgery
procedures they’d been planning before the credit crunch took hold.

For countries in the EU there are of course regulations which dictate the level of health and safety requirements and the standard of care that should be given to patients. But this does not mean that the surgeon is required to be a member of any governing body to ensure they carry out cosmetic surgery to the highest standard. This also does not mean that you will receive the standard of aftercare you would expect when using an accredited surgeon/hospital in the UK.

For surgery such as lap band placement or gastric bypass you would expect to pay up to £11,000 in the UK with a reputable firm and this should guarantee you receive the best quality care during and after the procedure. If you were to travel to a European country such as Turkey you may find this procedure priced for a tenth of this figure and, rather than thinking this is a bargain, you should ask yourself where the corners are being cut.

Cosmetic Surgery and the Pink Pound

While our American counterparts may be resisting the urge to opt for cosmetic surgery – resulting in a slow down for 60% of US cosmetic surgeons – it seems that a new sector of society is opting for surgery and this it seems will see UK surgeons through the recession.

A recent survey in a well known magazine showed that almost a quarter of gay men had undergone plastic surgery (22%) and a further 69% would consider it. The money this brings in, or the pink pound as it has been nicknamed, has gone some way to making up for the dip caused by the credit crunch.

It appears that men in general are increasingly opting for cosmetic surgery which has resulted in a 20% increase in the last 5 years. Procedures such as nose surgery, male breast reduction and tummy tucks have all become increasingly popular.

Cosmetic Surgery – What to Get and When

Published: Nov 9th, 2008 | Author: Alex Bhaswara Add Comment

The rate at which our skin appears to age can be influenced by many factors and depending on this we will need to take certain precautions and be aware of the right time to opt for a particular procedure whether it be non surgical – such as Botox injections – or surgical – such as facelift surgery.

Believe it or not 90-95% of what we perceive to be aging of our skin is actually sun damage which has been programmed into our skin from an early age onwards. If you do not protect your skin from the sun’s rays (even in winter) you will unfortunately accelerate the “aging” of your skin. For those of you with a penchant for sunbeds there is little hope of staying young and fresh faced without a major reversal technique, whether this be non surgical such as an acid peel or by going under the surgeons’ knife and having a facelift to iron out those creases.

If you look after you skin then you shouldn’t need to think about anti-aging products until you are in your mid twenties. At this point you can start to consider certain products to ward off the advances of time – remember; prevention is better than cure – by your late twenties you may want to consider Botox to tackle any expression lines on the forehead or between the eyes (and those pesky crows feet) and stop those from becoming deepened wrinkles which are more difficult to do anything about.

You Want to Get Plastic Surgery Bringing Someone With You

Published: Nov 4th, 2008 | Author: Alex Bhaswara Add Comment

There is a question that many people ask : Can I get my surgery with someone else?

The answer to that question is also simple: ABSOLUTELLY it should be the best thing to do, and this is because many reasons.

First you can get more comfortable and secure if you come with someone you trust, your husband (or wife), a friend, your mother, your cousin, etc. this is because undergoing this adventure (as many doctors in the USA says), could be intimidating, but if you come with that person you can rely on it will be easier for you to take the decision and to overcome the fear of coming to a country you probably don’t know or that you have heard bad things of (I will address this in a future email).

Coming with other person could be good for you because you can spend all of your recovery time with someone you know and you are used to talk and be with. This will help you get recovered faster and in a more comfortable way than talking just with nurses and doctors.

Getting Two Procedures at the Time is Possible

Published: Nov 4th, 2008 | Author: Alex Bhaswara Add Comment

Actually it is very common to get two or even more procedures at the same surgical time, a surgical time means the time it takes from your entrance to the operation room until your surgeon finishes your operation.

The usual procedures are: breast augmentation and then liposuction, or also liposuction then a gluteoplasty, and sometimes doctor does a liposuction, then a tummy tuck or lipectomy and also a gluteoplasty or butt-lift.

Having breast augmentation and then liposuction is more the result of the common need or preference of patients because usually you want to enhance your breast and also to reduce your belly. It is not really matter of surgical requirements to do it so, just the most usual procedures that are undertaken by patients.

There are Options for Financing Your Cosmetic Surgery

Published: Nov 4th, 2008 | Author: Alex Bhaswara Add Comment

I don’t need to tell you that cosmetic surgery procedures are not cheap, you already know it, you have probably done some research already, you asked your doctor, googled it, asked other people who had surgery before, you have seen it on TV, newspapers or magazines, etc.

But there are options out there, you can ask for a personal loan with your bank, you can ask your insurance company if they have special credit programs for cosmetic surgery abroad in the case that your insurance does not cover all of the procedure expenses, and there are also some cosmetic surgery loan companies that could lend you the money you need for the surgery expenditure.
