Definition and Story of Vegetarian

The dictionary is quite clear in stating that a vegetarian is “one who eats a diet consisting wholly of vegetables and fruit, and sometimes eggs or dairy products.” However, there seems to be some confusion among the general population as well as in the scientific community as to whether this definition is sufficient. Support for this confusion can be found in the number of professed vegetarians who eat meat products in varied frequency. In many ways, defining a vegetarian could simply be: “one who abstains from meat.” However, a closer look at the various social, religious, philosophical, historical, and political influences that have affected the label and its usage over time present the reality that the term has different meanings to different people. The word “vegetarian” was first used in 1847 by the Vegetarian Society of the United Kingdom.Pythagoras (considered the Father of Vegetarianism), Zoroaster, Daniel, and Buddha advocating and following a vegetarian diet. Throughout history, several religious groups have followed vegetarian diets with varying degrees of adherence. However, it wasn’t until the last part of the 20th century that the practice began to secure mainstream acceptance for positive health associations.a higher percentage of the vegetarian population is more than 40 years of age, a larger percentage is composed of young families (those with children under 18 years of age). Save our Kids….save Ourselves

Although nearly two-thirds of Americans are overweight, 83 percent of us say our eating habits are very healthy or somewhat healthy, according to a Thomson Medstat survey. Only 3 percent of Americans characterized their eating habits as “not at all healthy.”

OH REALLY? Then why are we and our children so fat and unhealthy? Could it be that few parents really understand how the so called “Standard American Diet” is so detrimental to our children’s health. Let’s face the facts: We have a national health crisis on our hands. Since we love our children and would do everything in our power to keep their lives healthy and safe, there’s only one possible reason we continue to fill their bodies (and our own) with unhealthy, unsafe food – we don’t really understand what a healthy diet looks like. We have a problem and the good news is…..we can resolve this problem.

Did you know that our children’s generation is the first generation in history that is predicted to fail to outlive its parents? I don’t know about you, but that scared the heck out of me! All you have to do is drive down the streets and count how many fast food restaurants there are in one block. Look at the kids. Kids – all the way from toddlers to teenagers are pudgy. We have a childhood obesity epidemic plaguing our country. That’s the bad news. And the good news is that we have the power to change our fate.

Which Weight Loss Programs Work Best?

With so many weight loss programs in the market these days it can become very difficult to work out which one to go for. The reality is most of these weight loss programs will work, however it is a matter of working out which one will work best for you. The bad news is that there are no magical program that will make all your weight just drop off, but there certainly are many options that do work.

Weight loss programs can be broken down into 4 areas. These weight loss programs include:

- diet/weight loss pills

- meal replacements

- fad diets or weight loss programs

- long term lifestyle weight loss programs.

Diet pills have become very popular in the last 10 years and certainly to some degree have shown success. Diet pills work by three different means: appetite suppressant, increased metabolism rate or decreased fat solubility. The problem is that no diet pill is without side effects. These can range from stomach cramps to diarrhoea and nausea. Without proper nutrition they can be quite dangerous and so as far as weight loss programs go it they are not a great idea.

Dangers of Obesity

Increased Health Risk of Premature Death
According to CDC researchers, an estimated 300,000 American deaths a year are related to obesity, but see note, below. The risk of premature death rises with increasing weight. Even moderate weight gain (10 to 20 pounds for a person of average height) increases the risk of death, particularly among adults aged 30 to 64 years. Individuals who are obese (BMI greater than 30) have a 50 to 100 percent increased risk of premature death from all causes, compared to individuals with a healthy weight.

Increased Health Risk of Heart Disease
The risk of heart attack, congestive heart failure, sudden cardiac death, angina or chest pain is increased in persons who are overweight or obese. High blood pressure is twice as common in adults who are obese than in those who are at a healthy weight. Obesity is associated with high triglycerides and decreased HDL cholesterol.

Increased Health Risk of Stroke
Atherosclerosis, or narrowing of the arteries, which may lead to the formation of an arterial blood clot, is an important pre-condition of many strokes. Atherosclerosis is accelerated by high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol and lack of exercise. Obesity, especially morbid obesity is frequently associated with a high-fat diet, raised blood pressure and lack of exercise. Thus obesity is now considered an important secondary risk factor for strokes.

Le Marche Organic Olive Oils

Until recently fine Organic Olive oils produced in the Le Marche region of Italy were virtually unknown outside of Italy and in fact most were unknown outside of Le Marche itself. But hopefully over the next few years this situation will slowly change as these oils are made known to a wider public.

There are many types of Olives grown throughout the world and in our region of southern Le Marche the Sargano olive is widely planted. The olives are harvested when they turn purple and the Sargano olive is widely blended with oils from other olives such as Leccino, Moraiolo and Frantoio. The Leccino and the Frantoio olive varieties are the base of nearly all the oils produced in Le Marche and these are often combined with other less well known varieties. In other areas of Le Marche we find Carboncella in the Ascoli Zone, Raggia and Rosciola in the province of Ancona and also varieties such as Pendolino, Moraiolo and Maurino.

In the Le Marche Olive oils one finds that a typically light and sweet taste prevails. The oils are fruity and slightly spicy but the taste and aroma is pleasantly balanced. As Le Marche becomes more and more popular for holidays and for second homes, I am sure the Olive oils from this region will increasingly gain in popularity both in Italy, the UK and hopefully in the US where Livinginlemarche.com hopes to start importing them in late 2009.

Turinabol

4-Chlorodehydromethyltestosterone, sold under the brand name Turinabol, is an anabolic steroid developed in the 1960s, a highly competitive time for the Olympics and national level sports, the East German experts were looking for effective steroids that would circumvent these sports’ drug testing policies. What they settled on was the methylated version of 4-chlorotestosterone, also called Oral Turinabol. Oral Turinabol is often described as having properties somewhere between Anabol , and Anavar. With its moderate anabolic effects, and mild-ish side effects, this isn’t a bad description. Turinabol displays anabolic tendencies that are approximately equal to or slightly greater than those of testosterone, while exhibiting little or no androgenic activity.

Because of this slower rate of gain, people who take Turinabol should not expect weight, strength or muscle mass to increase dramatically, but the muscle and strength they do gain will be a “quality” gain. People report that Turinabol gives a nice “hard” look because it lacks the estrogenic properties which can lead to an undesirable puffy look.

One of the other benefits of Turinabol stems from why the East Germans were able to use it undetected for a while: The body quickly breaks it down and excretes it which might make it beneficial for those who will be undergoing drug screening.

Post Falls Personal Trainer: Emotions Behind Over-eating

There are plenty of reasons of why both men and women of all ages become overweight.

It is not as easy as saying that overweight people just shovel food in their mouth and never get off the couch because there can be any number of psychological reasons that make people want to eat to much.

There are many emotional triggers such as anger, boredom, anxiety, frustration, depression, stress and so on that can all make a person want to continue to eat more and more. This is due to the fact that there are certain chemicals in the brain that are linked directly to both mood and hunger.

Both men and women associate eating with various different types of emotions and for this reason they choose to eat way more than they need to make themselves feel better, relaxed or secure.

If you feel your weight problem is caused by emotional over eating then it is probably best to deal with those issues first by seeing a counselor or specialist rather than trying to deal with these issues alone through exercise and nutrition.

Why Honey is a Healthier Choice Than Sugar

The cosmetic industry has known for a long time, the benefits to be had using honey in their products.

It helps to nourish, smooth and clean you skin, and is a natural antiseptic and cleansing agent, known for its anti-fungal and anti bacterial properties. Honey is great for aging skin.

Comparing honey to all the other types of sweeteners available, honey would definitely be the healthiest choice a person can make.

A teaspoon of honey has at least 22 calories compared to around 16 calories in one teaspoon of sugar. Even though the honey calorie intake may be higher, you need to use less of it because it is sweeter.

Honey contains no cholesterol, 22 amino acids (the building blocks of protein), vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. It is a great killer of germs and bacteria, and is more effective than some antibiotics.
